Gaithersburg, MD, January 4, 2010—Professional Products, Inc. (PPI ), the leader in designing and integrating advanced video, audio, data and control systems, announced today that it has been awarded a $2.3 million contract by The General Conference of the Seventh Day Adventists for a new high–definition video production facility to supply programming to the organization’s Hope Channel. Hope Channel is a family–friendly television network that spans the globe. PPI provided all studio design consultation and is integrating this new production facility, to be located at Hope Channel’s Silver Spring, MD, site.

“PPI is extremely enthusiastic about partnering with the Seventh Day Adventists on this very important project for Hope Channel,” said Bruce Kaufmann, president and CEO of PPI. “We’re very pleased to be able to provide them with the latest technology in high definition video to meet their needs now and into the future.”

The television studio will be equipped with five Hitachi SK–HD100 High Definition broadcast cameras, Fujinon 17X Servo Zoom Lens and Autoscript Teleprompters supported by Vinten Quattro Studio Pedestals. Cameras will be equipped with fiber–based camera control units. The system has been designed to support 1080/60i high definition SMPTE 292M standard.

The production switcher is a Ross QMD Vision 3 recording to a Harris Nexio multi–channel video production server, which will be used as the primary studio recording and clip playback device. A Digital Rapids StreamZHD streaming encoder will be used to generate image– and Web–based video files.

Post production includes four non–linear editing systems that will be designed around Apple’s Final Cut Pro non-linear editing application, Apple’s Mac Pro computer workstation and AJA’s Kona LH–I HD capture cord.
