Video Replay Control Room and Coaching System

The Story

Human Circuit knows that there’s more to designing and integrating a project than just connecting products. In today’s television environment, the transition from analog to digital, from standard to high definition, creates serious production issues that need to be considered, understood and factored into the planning of a project.

Many system integration companies have built digital control rooms, but not many are familiar with the issues surrounding the support of multiple aspect ratios. The vast majority of control rooms—while capable of supporting the DTV widescreen aspect ratio—produce solely in the traditional 4:3 aspect ratio. As a result, graphic support in a multiple aspect ratio environment must be considered.

Many of our digital production control room projects are multiple aspect ratios based. Because of the unique display requirements in major league sports arenas—namely large LED screens—aspect ratios of 16:9 and 4:1 are not uncommon. In addition, many facilities need to support the standard 4:3 aspect ratio on the numerous concourse-level monitors.

The Human Circuit system includes video, audio and the infrastructure to make all of what you see on game day—player statistics, replays of an impressive play within the game or advertising on the 4,811 square foot HD scoreboard.

The key pieces of equipment contained within these areas include:

  • HD production switcher
  • Touch panel control systems
  • 6-channel slow motion replay
  • COFDM wireless camera systems
  • 1080p (full HD) LCD monitor wall
  • Pan and tilt cameras
  • SAN-based non-linear editing
  • Fiber optic point-of-view (POV) robotic camera systems
