Our Clinical Skills and Medical Simulation Centers are Creating the Gold–Standard in Patient Safety and Medical Teaching.
The main goal of the Simulation Center is to improve safety in patient care. Current and future healthcare professionals can “practice” in this safe environment while honing their skills, refining advanced techniques and learning valuable social interactive tools for delivering important news to patients. This translational research becomes vital for creating the gold–standard in patient safety and medical teaching.
Residents Hone Their Skills on Mannequin Based Simulations
Using mannequins in a clinical simulations environment allows virtual feedback using computers that regulate the mannequins’ compressors, mimicking pulses and chest rising. Life–like forms simulate heart tones and other vital cues when connected to monitors, providing real–time information to students.
A customized operational and equipment support option was designed to ensure the long term health of the system as well as the investment. This choice is a cost effective and pre-emptive approach that eliminates an expensive, reactive response to problems that may occur down the road.
